This book presents the papers delivered at the Conference on Systems and Computer Science held at the University of Western Ontario in September 1965, focused on some of the concepts of Computer Science as a new field of study and at the same time provide a background for scientists looking at the subject for the first time.

HartJohn:
John F. Hart (1923-2002) came to the University of Western Ontario in 1959 and was the first head of the Department of Computer Science, serving from 1964 to 1978. John was also a founder of ATN (Audio-Tactile Network) and facilitated the education of non-sighted students at Western.
TakasuSatoru:
Satoru Takasau was a professor and former director at the Research Institute of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Kyoto, Japan.
